The Maiden Voyage of the Virgin Resilient Lady
Good morning, good afternoon, and good night, everyone. Today, we are taking you to board one of the newest cruise ships in the world, the Virgin Resilient Lady. Although the ship is Brazilian, we find ourselves in the heart of Greece, where the hospitality is astounding – they literally gave us free shots without even having to order!
Off to the Ship
Mistaking the shuttle location, we hastily hailed a taxi to take us to our port. The drive cost us 10 euros, which was nothing in comparison to our excitement at the sight of the towering cruise ship, adorned with a stunning mermaid on the front. Our first European Cruise was finally kicking off, and the excitement was palpable.
Boarding Time
We had to endure a slightly abnormal hold-up for the luggage drop off. However, that was quickly forgotten as we were greeted with music and the potential for some priority boarding. As we stepped onto the bustling ship, we were guided by the helpful crew members towards our rooms.
A First Look at the New Ship
The ship was a like for like comparison with Virgin’s in America, albeit with some interesting and unique aeasthetic differences. The eccentric purple and red lights made for an unusual but intriguing first interaction. What took us by surprise was how conveniently located our rooms were, right next to the elevator. However, the biggest surprise was the silver coin, which had been welded and placed under the ship’s Keel block during its construction – a sign of Good Fortune for our voyage.
Diner at Extra Virgin
One of the best features of this cruise was the array of quality food options already paid for as part of the package. We made dinner reservations at the Extra Virgin where we feasted on a plethora of delicious seafood pasta and medium-rare steak. However, we were also intrigued by the little differences across the ship.
Sailing Away Party Onboard Virgin Resilient Lady
Following dinner, the sail away party was a sight to behold. With unlimited champagne and an unforgettable live show, the ship really knew how to throw a party. As we sailed away from Athens, we were enchanted by the view of the white speckled buildings and towering mountains in the distance.
Entertainment that Exceeded Expectations
We stumbled upon a show called Persephone and instantly became engrossed. The performance was not only highly entertaining, but it also showcased the impressive talent of the performers on board. The dynamic show had vibrant choreography and catchy music, truly contributing to its overall appeal — a must-see if you’re on the cruise.
Party in Pajamas
Long into the night, we attended the PJ party on the deck. Although it was a bit chilly, we’re not ones to shy away from a good party, ensuring we made the most of the Virgin Resilient Lady maiden voyage. The journey was truly a roller coaster of events, filled with exciting moments and stunning views.
